Peyton is the next oldest of my cousins. She's twelve years old and a sixth grader at Crestwood Junior High School here in Paris. Peyton is actually my step-cousin but she feels just like another cousin to the family. Peyton is very tall for her age and can eat a ton of food for being a twelve year old girl. My family always jokes about this when we get together because she never fails to eat more food than anyone. Peyton has been a gymnast her whole life and has gotten really good at it. She is also a cheerleader and I love that there is another girl in the family to share the love of it with. Last weekend the Crestwood cheer team actually placed 2nd at the state cheerleading competition which was very exciting. I was definitely a proud big cousin. Peyton is also on the competitive gymnastics team at her gym and competes with them during the winter and summer. She used to play softball and basketball but she has come to devote her time to gymnastics and cheerleading.

Shawn is the next oldest of my cousins. Shawn is thirteen and a seventh grader. He and his family live in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, which is about two hours south of Paris. Shawn is definitely the athlete of the family. His best sport is baseball but he plays basketball and football for his school and community leagues. Shawn has always been somewhat mature for his age so he gets along with my sister and I well. He was bullied a lot at his public school, so this year he started at a private Christian school. They do not have school on Fridays but they have to keep a certain GPA to stay in the school. We always call Shawn the "gambler." He has always been somewhat of a daredevil at everything he does. When we play family baseball games he's always trying to steal a base even when he could easily be thrown out. Lucky for him he's very quick.

My sister Emilie is the oldest our of us eight cousins, not including myself. Emilie is fifteen and a freshman at the high school. Emilie has one of the best personalities I know. She is a very kind-hearted person and one who is just fun to be around. Emilie plays travel softball for the Indiana Outkast and is going to play for the high school if all goes well. I can't even begin to count how many softball games I've been to for her. When she was five and I was seven she won the Little Miss Edgar County fair queen pageant and I still have memories of it to this day. I am not like her and do not like pageants or anything of the sort. For an entire week my family lived at the fairgrounds and off of fair food, catering Emilie around and getting her hair done and her dresses put on for all of her several appearances. Needless to say it's a bitter memory for me but I still love my sister dearly and am very grateful for the friendship I will always have in her.

Family is an important part of my life, as it is almost anyone’s. For my blog, I thought it would be interesting to write about all of my family members and the different memories I share with them. Hopefully I am able to reconcile important memories and record them with this blog. I only have one year left of high school so this couldn’t be a better time to start recording some of my childhood. For my first blog, I am just going to write about all of my family members and a little bit about who they are. On my dad’s side, I am the oldest of my cousins. My dad, Kevin, has two siblings, Lauri and Steve, who each have three kids. Lauri has Shawn who is thirteen, Jessica who is nine, and Aaron who is two. Steve has Peyton who is twelve, Nathan who is ten, and Adelyn who is six. My dad has my sister Emilie who is fifteen and I am seventeen. On my mom’s side, I am the second youngest, only beat by my sister. Brian is my oldest cousin, then his brother Judd and then Aaron.
